The 9000 series was Trek's first attempt at full suspension. The 9500 was the top model in 1992 with the brand new Shimano XTR group. To say Trek's rear suspension design wasn't very well received would be an understatement. This style lasted until it was replaced by the Y-bike in '95. This particular bike was owned by former employee and overall hotshoe, Geoff Maus. Geoff rode the bike in the So. Cal/Saddleback area for years while upgrading the suspension bits. He saved the old parts so it is now spec'ed as it was originally. Thanks, Geoff!
