The Paramount was Schwinn’s top bicycle for many years. This particular bike was purchased in 1972 by O'Brien Tyrrell at Park Schwinn in the Twin Cities. He wanted a white one, but by the time he went back to pick it up the Kool Lemon was the next best option. He tells the story of customers actually holding on to the handlebars of a bike on the floor until a salesman could help them, so nobody else would buy it. It was the bike boom and Paramounts were sought after. This one is in near mint condition-it spent every night in O'Brien's bedroom. It has the Campagnolo brakes that were a $50 option in '72 making the total price $400.
